Why Take This Program?
North American Business Management Post Baccalaureate Program is a 12-month long graduate program for international students who already have business or economics degrees and it allows them to learn about business culture in Canada and help them understand contexts. Students learn leadership and teamwork and how it works with group dynamics. The program focuses on specifically North American HR practices and accounting as well. As a result, they will learn fundamental concept how Canadians do business differently here in North America other than Europe and Asian regions such as Taiwan, China and India.
2-months of Work Practicum
You can gain local work experience/business connections and knowledge of North American management practices during this practicum. It is small class sizes providing individualized learning and support and you will be able to learn business skills from faculty with extensive industry expertise.
Three Areas of Specialization Available
Marketing, Human Resources & International Strategy & Entrepreneurship
– Marketing Concentration
This concentration, in the first year, is designed to provide students with a strong background in marketing in order to prepare them for a wide variety of marketing careers. The concentration is most appropriate for those students seeking a career in brand management, small business marketing and business-to-business marketing in North America and abroad.
– Human Resource Management Concentration
During the first year, this concentration is designed to provide students with strong background in human resource management (HRM) and to prepare them for the wide variety of HR careers available. This concentration provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to help organizations ensure they have the necessary talent required to operate effectively.
– International Strategy and Entrepreneurship
This first year concentration is designed to give students insight into the subject of entrepreneurship and to help them gain an understanding of the challenges of owning and operating a business across borders in a global marketplace.
Admission Requirements
You need to complete an undergraduate business or economics degrees from a recognized institution or students with backgrounds other than these areas will be required to complete a 3 week pre-sessional Business Essentials course.
- Program fee $18,900
- Introduction to Business Essentials course – Tuition $1653.75
- Start dates: September and January
English requirement is an overall IETLS score of 6.0 and no band score less than 5.5 for direct entrance. Also a personal interview will be required before acceptance and all applicants are asked to provide a 2 page letter of intent.
