Deep Cove in North Vancouver has a spectacular landscape that will make you feel alive. If you’re studying in Vancouver, this place is a must you can’t miss!
Deep Cove is a neighborhood located in the eastern part of North Vancouver (13 kilometers from downtown). Its stunning scenery is definitely enjoyable since the moment you walk along its streets.
This location was previously known as Deepwater and currently, Deep Cove is known as “The Cove” by locals. This place became popular as a Summer resort in 1910. And still, nowadays it’s a place that attracts locals from Cove Cliff, Dollarton, Parkgate, Indian Arm, Woodlands, and Vancouver.
Deep Cove is surrounded by forest, mountains, parks, skiing areas and water, and that’s why it offers a wide range of recreation activities. If you go to visit this area, you will find canoe and kayak rentals (and lessons) available, as well as rowing and a marina.
The most popular activity among students is the hike to the top of Quarry Rock. This trail is called Baden-Powell Trail. From the starting point (in Deep Cove) it takes around one hour to arrive at the top of the rock. The view from the top is amazing, so bring your cell phone with full battery, because you will take so many wonderful pictures!
I went to this beautiful place when I was studying in Vancouver. I had so much fun with my classmates and I took a bunch of pictures that I really love. It was sunny, my friends were there, and the landscape and the vibes were magical. When I watch this photos on my cell phone I always smile. And I’m pretty sure that if you go to the lookout point on Quarry Rock, it will happen to you too!
Honey Doughnuts & Goodies is a popular spot for locals and visitors, I highly recommend their honey doughnuts, are scrumptious! However, if you are a coffee fan and you don’t like sweets, café Orso is your spot to have a quick snack after or before your outdoor activities. This neighborhood is plenty of food options, so if you are really hungry you can choose among pizza, Japanese food, fish & chips, Greek food, etc.
