University Transfer and Associate Degrees in Columbia College - Uvanu International

Since 1936, Columbia College has been serving the Vancouver Lower Mainland area. Thousands of Canadian and international students have completed their qualifications at Columbia College and used these as a platform for successful university careers. At our new location, the College will continue to provide the same top quality academic programs in brand new premises that offer improved facilities to both students and staff.

Over the years, Columbia College has consistently been one of the top three providers of international students to the University of British Columbia. Columbia College also sends large numbers of students to Simon Fraser University, Vancouver’s other major university.

Our brand new campus opened its doors on April 24, 2013. The campus is conveniently close to downtown, and just two blocks away from Science World and the Main Street SkyTrain station.

University Transfer Programs

Columbia College is well recognized within the BC Transfer System. Transfer credit is pre-arranged for university courses completed at Columbia College with local universities such as the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria. It is customary for other universities in BC and the United States to recognize the transfer credits listed by the British Columbia Commission on Admissions and Transfer, BCCAT.

Students in college transfer programs at Columbia College benefit from small classes and additional interaction with instructors. The college offers college transfer programs at:

  • Business
  • Communication
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering
  • Arts
  • Science

Associate Degree Programs

An Associate Degree is an academic qualification awarded to students who have completed two full years of study at the first and second year university levels, including completion of specific course requirements. An Associate Degree is equivalent to the first two years of a four-year university degree, and as such is accepted as the basis for admission to the third year of university Bachelor Degree programs.

Students can pursue the following Associate Degrees:

  • Associate of Arts Degree
  • Associate of Arts Degree, Business Administration Concentration
  • Associate of Arts Degree, Mass Communication Concentration
  • Associate of Arts Degree, Economics Concentration
  • Associate of Science Degree, General Science
  • Associate of Science Degree, Computer Science Concentration
  • Associate of Science Degree, Mathematics Concentration

Students with an Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree may also apply for a permit to work in Canada for 3 years after graduation, and then apply for permanent resident status in Canada
